The Enugu State Government has paid the outstanding salaries and leave allowances of workers ranging from three to fifteen months.
Due to this development the union has organised a solidarity rally in honour of the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for proper utilization of the Paris Club Fund.
According to the state union president of the Enugu chapter of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Comrade Kenneth Ugwueze said its the first time the workers are paid all their salaries in full.
“We have never had it this way before. When the Paris Club Fund was released.
He utilised it for the payment of salary arrears, leave allowances and all.
The workers are being considered in the implementation of new state service scheme which makes it possible for the workers to enjoy benefits as state workers among others.
He has ensured good governance indeed and we are happy”
He said they will continue to show their support and discharge their duties for the development of the state and nation at large
